Founder of HealthIsHers
While I was reviewing the Medina v. Planned Parenthood decision, it became very clear to me how legal structures shape women's access to healthcare. The ruling did not directly prohibit care, but it limited the ability of Medicaid patients to challenge state decisions. In doing so, it revealed that access to health care is not defined solely by availability, but by whether legal systems permit individuals to contest restrictions placed upon that access. For many young women, especially students, this carries immediate consequences, as barriers to care become more difficult to navigate and resolve.
This realization led me to create HealthIsHers, an initiative to expand access to healthcare by ensuring that young women can make informed decisions with privacy and autonomy. My platform is designed to address practical barriers such as cost, accessibility, and uncertainty by providing a direct and safe pathway to care. In support of this goal, I partnered with LifeMD to build a system through which students can connect immediately with licensed medical providers through secure and accessible online consultations.
My work is guided by the principle that access to healthcare should not depend on geography or circumstance. When it does, the effects extend beyond health and begin to shape a student's ability to participate fully in her education and daily life.
HealthIsHers reflects my commitment to addressing these inequities by making access to healthcare more consistent, more reliable, and more equitable for the students who need it.
